Siargao named as one of the World's Greatest Places 2021

Siargao has been named as one of the World's Greatest Places of 2021 by Time Magazine. Internationally known as the Philippines' “Surfing Capital",  Siargao continues to be a choice destination for surfing enthusiasts and beach lovers alike due to its picturesque islands, white sand beaches, blue-green waters, and laid-back vibe. 

"In many ways, our third annual list of the World’s Greatest Places is a tribute to the people and businesses at the forefront of those industries who, amid extraordinary circumstances, found ways to adapt, build and innovate. Boracay becomes second Philippine destination to get "Safe Travel" Stamp

Boracay Island just became one of the two Philippine destinations to receive the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Safe Travels Stamp next to Baguio City, indicating it has adopted globally recognized health protocols.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) also awarded the stamp to 11 hotels namely, Le Soleil de Boracay, Discovery Shores Boracay, Shangri-la’s Boracay Resort, Hue Boracay, Wald’s Place, Amable Suites, Lime Hotel, The Lind Boracay, Movenpick Resort & Spa Boracay, Villa Caemilla Beach Boutique Hotel, and Belmont Hotel Boracay.

Philippine mangroves make it to the list of most beautiful mangroves in Asia

Mangroves not only make for beautiful landscapes but also play an important role in protecting coastal areas from erosion. If you’re the nature lover traveller type and are into sustainable tourism, check out these two destinations in the Philippines where you can see some of the most beautiful mangroves. Lifestyle Asia has recently named Bakhawan Eco-Park in Kalibo, Aklan and Bongsanglay Natural Park in the Bicol Region as one of the most beautiful mangroves to visit in Asia. 

The Philippines is home to at least half of the world’s approximately 65 mangrove species. Also, based on the 2010 global mangrove forests distribution, the Philippines ranks 15th of the most mangrove-rich countries in the world and 6th in Asia.
